October Producers Month - Taste Lancashire

To celebrate Taste Lancashire's October Producers Month to promote local suppliers Chef Carl has come up with some mouthwatering daily specials:

Lancashire Broth, using the best in local produce

Leagram's Lancashire Blue Cheese pasta topped with asparagus spears

Minced Lancashire lamb and baby leeks on crusty bread

Ribchester's own Old Spot Sausages and dry cured bacon in a potato bake, topped with an organic Lancashire cheese crust

The Carmen Rose apple crumble - made with apples fresh from our garden.

 

Breakfast Menu  -'til 12.30pm

Crumpets                                                     
2 crumpets served with butter and a selection of home made jams.
 
Breakfast Toastie   
Brown or white Toastie filled with grilled Ribchester dry cured bacon topped with Lancashire cheese and fresh tomatoes served with a side salad and gourmet crisps.
 
Cinnamon Toast                                               
White or wholemeal bread toasted, buttered and sprinkled with unrefined Demerara sugar and freshly ground cinnamon - total comfort!
               
Pan Au Chocolat                                                 
Just right for that early morning chocolate fix - served warm.
 
Bagels                                                                          
- Scrambled egg and smoked salmon on a toasted bagel.
- Smoked salmon and cream cheese on a toasted bagel.
 
Sausage Sandwich                                    
Ribchester’s own “Old Spot” sausages grilled and served with tomatoes and lettuce for the ultimate Sausage Sandwich! - Available on white or wholemeal bread.

The Carmen Rose Caesar Salad  
A warm salad of free range local chicken and Ribchester bacon, pan fried until golden, and served on a bed of crisp cos lettuce, with herb croutons & parmesan, tossed in a classic Caesar dressing. 
 
Pate/Cheese Board                         
A selection of pâté and/or local Lancashire cheeses served with crusty bread, salad and a choice of delicious home made chutney
 
Carl’s Chicken, Leek & Bacon Bake  
Succulent local free range chicken breast baked with Ribchester bacon and leeks, finished with a cheese topping.
 
Welsh Rarebit                                 
A delicious Lancashire cheese, beer, and mustard sauce poured over white or brown bread, served with a salad garnish.
 
Home Made Waffles                                   
Home made waffles served with a crisp salad garnish and any of the following fillings:
Sara’s home made bolognaise sauce, Heinz Baked Beans, Tuna Mayonnaise, Grated Cheddar, Cheese & Ham, Ribchester bacon and Cheese, home made free range Coronation Chicken.
 
Freshly Made Sandwiches/Toasties
Made with brown or white bread or baguettes, all served with gourmet crisps and side salad.

Home Made Desserts - We have different home made desserts daily.
 
Home Made Waffles                            
- ice cream (two scoops of any flavour)                            
- sliced bananas and one scoop of ice cream 
Add strawberry, raspberry or chocolate sauce if desired! 
 
Sara’s Scrumptious Sundae
2 scoops of Mrs Dowson’s home made ice cream (you choose the flavours) covered with whipped cream, nuts or sprinkles, and topped with chocolate, raspberry or strawberry sauce. Yum! 
              
Carl’s Banana Surprise                               
Whole, freshly sliced banana, Mrs Dowson’s vanilla ice cream, smothered with whipped cream, topped with nuts or sprinkles and finished with lashings of chocolate, raspberry or strawberry sauce. 
 
Dowson’s award-winning local ice cream
Served in either a sundae dish or on a choice of cones

 - 1 scoop  1.20             - 2 scoops  1.80             - 3 scoops  2.40

sprinkles or nuts add 5p        - flake add 15p

Alternatively you can have your coffee in a cafetiere. Choose from:
 
Santos - this is the best coffee Brazil produces. It is very smooth with a mellow and mild flavour
El Salvador - another rainforest alliance coffee with a rich smooth flavour with subtle nutty aftertaste. Medium roasted
Sumatra - an Indonesian full roasted coffee, full bodied with a smooth flavour
